The Opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 11th at ALBA, Beirut.

Opening Ceremony Films :

1 – I Don’t Know What to Call It 

Director : Noha Aghnatios

Synopsis: A stroll in Beirut clears out the filmmaker’s creative block, birthing a film within a film, about how to make a film.

2 – 04-08-20**? 

Director : Karim Chreiteh

Synopsis: On the anniversary of the crime of the century, the Lebanese judiciary has issued a ruling sentencing those responsible for the port explosion to death.

3 – Soura صورة 

Director: Rahme Raychouni 

Synopsis: After her mother’s death, Thuraya decides to return to Beirut,Lebanon for a short visit, to finally Deal with her estranged Father, who went missing during the Lebanese civil war back in the 80’s

4Turtles Never Leave Home

Producer: Yara Akl

Synopsis: Living with an existential crisis caused by her past and by the present state of her dear country, a young Lebanese woman desperately tries to draw a way out of the mess she is living in only to realize that she is tormented by her spirit as well. Faith is her only vessel into salvation.

5 – Postcard From Beirut 

Directors : Georges Saade, Joelle Habib 

Synopsis: A young photographer attempts to capture her subject who only exists between the shadows. This documentary unfolds as a poetic exploration of identity, weaving through the relationships and spaces that shape the subject’s existence

6 – IMPERFECT SOLACE OF SOLITUDE

Director : Charbel Chouchani 

Synopsis: In a remote village, people live in solitude, life feels still, while everything changes elsewhere.

7- Burden of a nation

Director: Alex Meouchy 

Synopsis: A walk into a poet’s inner world as he comes back to visit his house.

8 – TIME IS IRRELEVANT

Director : Issam Sleiman 

Synopsis: Locked in a loop of thoughts we find ourselves waiting for things to change only to find that we became the people of our actions not our thoughts

9 – Je n’aime plus ma voiture

Après des mois de séparation Léa et Marc se retrouvent à Paris. Marc a une bague dans sa poche, Léa ne sait pas comment lui dire que c’est finit.
