6 Underground Review

6 Underground (7.5/10)

Six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, have been chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future.

What an adrenaline rush this film turned out to be.

Story: well I cannot exactly say that this film’s story was sentimental or emotional because after all it was purely action and adventure. But it did contain tiny fractions of romance (mixed with murders, assassinations and blood) and that was more than enough for me. The story also tackled some interesting and eye-opening subjects ranging from terrorism to mass killing to dictatorship to the meaning of the life and death itself.

Characters: first of all, we were provided with just enough backstory for each and every character to help us understand more about the storyline’s direction and the character’s motives. But if you are expecting to see some deep, complicated or your-average-next-door kind of characters, well do not. These characters are skillful killing machines with just enough heart and emotions to be called humans.

Acting: the acting was by far one the best aspects about this highly energetic film. First, we have the exceptional Ryan Reynolds with his famous Deadpool-like humor. We also have Adria Arjona and Ben Hardy whom both absolutely killed it! But, for me, only Melanie Laurent (previously known for NOW YOU SEE ME) managed to absolutely dominate the screen. Her charisma and alpha-like acting techniques made her stand out and absolutely nail each one of her scenes.

Choreography: I seriously cannot stress this enough!! Whoever choreographed this film’s action sequences seriously deserves a worldwide recognition. Absolutely perfect. Absolutely mind-blowing. Absolutely heart pumping.

Cinematography: the camerawork was pure perfection! Each scene and each frame managed to tell a visual story that transcended the barriers of the film’s original story and create a whole new one.

Soundtrack: sonic orgasms!! The soundtracks blended perfectly with the whole atmosphere of the film and helped in maintaining a constant flow of energy, fun, and excitement.

6 Underground, surprisingly, turned out to be one of the best action films of the year. I highly recommend it.
