A passionate coming-of-age tale set amidst the conservative confines of modern Tbilisi, the film follows Merab, a competitive dancer who is thrown off balance by the arrival of Irakli, a fellow male dancer with a rebellious streak.

“And Then We Danced” is a brutally honest and devastating love story that speaks with a forbidden language filled with passion, lust and dreams!

The entire story is basically an ode to sexuality and self-acceptance amidst the dusty social regulations Neanderthal-like mentalities! The simplicity and the brutality of such a story only makes it more difficult not to be affected and carried away by one’s emotions and affections.

This film speaks with a language that is way more sophisticated than the average dialog! It is almost poetic, if think about it! A poem for love, honor, and dance!

But ‘And Then We Danced’ forte lies in its deep character study that personified the raw emotions one goes through when falling in love.
From start to finish, you could really feel and sympathize with each Character. You will feel a strange connection forcing you to love them and understand them!

Levan Gelbakhiani and Bachi Valishvili’s ‘naked’ and vulnerable performances were breathtakingly beautiful!

Honestly speaking, this film is a moving piece of art that screams authenticity and perfection. It will directly engulf you in a cloud of emotions and joy!

AND THEN WE DANCED is definitely a film not to be missed!
