365 DNI: 6.5/10
Despite everything you have heard or read regarding 365 DNI, it is actually a really entertaining film with an exciting plot and some over-the-top twists and turns.
Massimo is a member of the Sicilian Mafia family and Laura is a sales director. She does not expect that on a trip to Sicily trying to save her relationship, Massimo will kidnap her and give her 365 days to fall in love with him.
First thing you need to know is that despite the numerous similarities found between 365 DNI and Fifty Shades of Gray’s stories, it is absolutely futile and tiring to even compare these two. I personally didn’t enjoy Fifty Shades of Gray while I was truly captivated with this one!!
What makes this film stands out is that it dared to provide us with an exciting and thrilling material. This daring and “controversial” side of the movie was predominant for sure and it kind of overshadowed the really interesting story that was unravelling every so smoothly and rapidly. But that doesn’t mean that this film was cheap and strictly commercial, because if you truly focus, you’d notice that it actually tackled numerous subjects that are considered heavy and intense such as sex trafficking, abuse of power… amongst many more.
365 DNI’s characters were complicated and borderline psychotic to say the least, but at the same this is what made this film so interesting and immersive. The protagonists were extremely unpredictable and strong. There wasn’t a deep character study, unfortunately, but that was totally accepted and comprehensible if you think of it.
Michele Morrone and Anna Maria Sieklucka’s chemistry was electrifying!!! They both surely knew how to deliver captivating performances. But if I were to be completely honest, Michele’s performance was slightly more convincing than Anna’s. He has a great on-screen presence that will definitely leave all viewers fixated in their seats and hypnotized!!
In my opinion, 365 DNI is a victim of bad advertising. The movie was portrayed as a sloppy Fifty Shades remake while in fact it is so much more than it was initially perceived. The soundtrack when combined with the eye-popping sceneries created a really immersive atmosphere filled with lust, crime and love! I honestly do recommend this film!!
