La Double Vie de Véronique Film Review
La double vie de Véronique is an honestly brutal exposition about Life, Death and Intuition that speaks with a prohibited language filled with nuanced sentiments and subtle yet extremely expressive body movements!!
The movie serves as an exposé on two parallel stories about two identical women; one living in Poland, the other in France. They don’t know each other, but their lives are nevertheless profoundly connected.
La double Vie de Véronique (also known as The Double Life of Véronique) story’s major forte is definitely in the way it managed to convey certain types of repressed emotions in a really elusive and gentle way! The film is enormously multifaceted treating various subjects and themes simultaneously such as identity, self-expression, Love and most importantly the true meaning of perception!
Such an intricate story requires the presence of some deeply and undeniably profound characters that have the aptitude to accurately fascinate the audience! Coincidentally, this was the situation! La Double Vie de Véronique’s many-sided and tremendously complex personas succeeded in producing a spellbinding ambiance which left me entirely hooked from the very beginning.
These fascinating characters were meticulously represented by a group of actors like no other! Irène Jacob’s award-worthy act is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve seen during my entire life. I was both stupefied and mesmerized by her sheer talent and charisma.
Truthfully speaking, La Double Vie de Véronique is an exquisite cinematic experience that oozes magic and perceptiveness! I highly recommend it!!
