Deep Water by Adrian Lyne film review

What started as a very promising, seemingly engaging, erotic thriller with endless possibilities and potential, quickly transformed into an underwhelming ‘show of muscle’ that lead to absolutely nowhere.

Don’t get me wrong, Deep Water is entertaining but it feels not complete, especially the third and final act.

The storyline failed to include a lot of important background information, the characters needed further development, and the entire ‘atmosphere’ felt lacking at certain times.

However, Ana De Armas’ performance was highly captivating and alluring. Mix that with the film’s vivid cinematography and intense soundtrack and you’ll be hooked in no time.
Ben Affleck delivered a rather passable performance, however his act needed some serious injections of both emotions and flexibility.

Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a B grade thriller with a tad of eroticism, then Deep water is your choice.
